Born in an orthodox Brahmin family where Shloka chanting, Carnatic singing and Yoga was part of my day to day life
Gurukulam was started in 2017 with a few children in my locality and lot of parents were keen in sending their children for classes. These classes is for kids and for adults between 3-70 years.
This is more about Sanskrit where kids are not exposed to this language but as I am working as preschool teacher for many years it’s my experience that kids at their early age will accept and learn variety of skills, and that is the perfect age for one to start with and to develop their interest because they will be having a very good grasping capacity and they will be open to learn new thing in this age. So we can try to develop their interest in them in their little brains and the learning outcome will be miraculous .
Gurukuam is not only about learning Shlokas, our main motto is to start this Institution to spread our culture and to create awareness to our younger generation about our culture and traditions. We teach all Shlokas with meanings, Devotional songs, stories of Ramayana, Mahabharata, Panchatantra, importance of festivals, great temples of India like this, where kids are missing all these and which is very important for them to learn. now a days kids have lot more activities to perform in a day, in spite all again its becoming difficult for parents to make them sit to learn shloka, bhajans. so our institution will become platform for such kids where we teach shlokas and devotional songs all 5 days in a week it will become their routine and they gradually starts liking this when they come to know they can learn this.
In the year 2020 we started classes online which helped many to learn from the comfort of their home, we should thank technology. Today Gurukulam has more than 500+ Students and we have students from across the globe we have a structured curriculum from basic to Advance levels all shlokas with meanings and we have a team of well trained and experienced teachers .
